Dr Andrew McLeod (MB ChB, Dip Obs, FRNZCGP, Distinguished Fellow of the NZCGP)

WMC_Andrew_M_030Andrew has worked at the Wanaka Medical since 1985 and is a director of Wanaka Medical.

Andrew has a wide range of clinical interests including skin cancer surgery, travel medicine, care of the elderly and sports medicine (and he competes regularly in triathlons and multi sports events.).  Andrew has strong  desire to see the health system change and improve to provide better care for patients and he spends time each week with various DHB and GP organisations working toward this goal.


Dr Julian Pettit (MB ChB, DCH, FRNZCGP)

Julian graduated from the University of Otago in 1996 and started working at the Wanaka Medical in 2004. Julian is a director of Wanaka Medical.

He has his fellowship in General Practice and also has a post graduate diploma in Child Health. He has a special interest in skin cancer medicine and is a member of the Skin Cancer College of Australasia. He has certificates in both skin cancer medicine and dermoscopy from the college and is enrolled in the advanced certificate of skin cancer medicine.

He enjoys spending time in the outdoors with his family and all the region has to offer.


Dr Jo Millis (MB BS, MRCGP (UK), DCH CRCOG, FRNZCGP)

WMC_Jo_M_377Jo studied medicine at King’s College in London and has post graduate diploma’s in Child Health and Obstetrics & Gynaecology. She is a fellow of the NZ College of GPs and has worked at Wanaka Medical since 2002. Jo is a director of Wanaka Medical.

She enjoys the variety and long term care of general practice work and has special interests in women’s and childrens health and has a Certificate in Dermoscopy from the Australian College.


Dr Linda Garrett (MB ChB, FRNZCGP)

WMC_Linda_G_493Linda graduated from Otago University in 1985 and began working at Wanaka Medical in 2001. Linda is now a director of Wanaka Medical.

Linda is a Fellow of the NZ College of GPs and has a special interest in women’s health and adolescent and child health. She has a Certificate in Dermoscopy.

Linda enjoys being part of a well organised and committed team, as well as developing long standing relationships with her patients and their families.


Dr Mark Feeney  (Bsc (Hons), MBChB, FRNZCGP, Dip Obs, FDRHMNZ, MNZSCM.)

WMC_Mark_F_498Mark joined the practice in  2010, lured to Wanaka by the outdoors. Mark is also a director of Wanaka Medical.
He enjoys rural medicine with all the challenges it brings. Mark works most of the year at Wanaka Medical as a GP, however, also spends time in Dunstan Hospital, in order to maintain his rural hospital skills.

He has a special interest in cosmetic medicine, skin cancer and performs vasectomies. Mark also has a Diploma in Clinician Performed Ultra Sound.


 Dr Charlotte Kevern (MB ChB, MRNZCGP, BSc, DCH, PGCertHlth)

charlotteCharlotte graduated from the University of Otago in 2011. She returned home to Southland to practice, before being lured to Wanaka by the skiing, hiking and mountain biking.

Charlotte has completed post graduate studies in both obstetrics and gynaecology and paediatric medicine. She also has a Certificate in Aviation Medicine and is completing a Diploma in Travel Medicine.

Charlotte appreciates the team atmosphere of both the Wanaka Medical Centre and the local health professionals, and has enjoyed getting to know the patients since her arrival in 2015.


 

Dr Michele Wills (MBChB, Dip Dermoscopy (SCCS) Distinction)

michelleMichele grew up in Invercargill,  graduated from the University of Otago in 2007 and started at Wanaka Medical in 2013.  She has always loved Wanaka, spending many holidays here as a child.  Michele and her husband, Jonathon moved to Wanaka in 2014 .

Michele has a special interest in skin and has a Diploma in Dermoscopy.


Dr Jonathon Wills (MbChb, FDRHM)

jonoJonathon grew up in Mt Maunganui before moving south to study at Otago University.  He graduated in 2007 and has worked in both rural hospitals and general practice.  He and his wife Michele, moved to Wanaka in 2014.

Jonathon works both as a GP at Wanaka Medical and at Dunstan Hospital as a rural hospital doctor.


Dr Erika Hollows (MBChB, FRNZCGP)

erikaErika graduated from Otago Medical School in 1994.  She worked as a medical registrar and in the emergency department prior to entering general practice.  Her areas of interest include youth health, women’s health and cardiovascular health. When not at work Erika enjoys spending time with her family, art, music and yoga.


Dr Catriona Austin (MBChB, FRNZCGP,DipTravMed (Distinction))

catrionaCatriona graduated from Aberdeen University Medical School in 2005 and travelled the world in search of adventure before settling in Wanaka. Her passions include mountain biking, skiing, world wide travel and music.

Catriona started work at Wanaka Medical in 2016. She works with Dr Andrew McLeod providing medical care at the local rest homes and with her diploma in travel medicine works as a doctor for the Wanaka Travel Doctor Clinic and is a yellow fever vaccinator.

 

Dr Nikki Vadgama (MBBS (London), FRNZCGP)

Dr Nikki Vadgama, Doctor Wanaka Medical

Nikki qualified from Royal London School of Medicine in 1999 and came to NZ in 2001. Having worked in various parts of the country she settled in Wanaka in 2016.

Nikki completed her GP fellowship in 2012 and enjoys all aspects of general practice work.

 

 

Dr Anna Winter   (MBChB, FRNZCGP)

Doctor Wanaka MedicalAnna graduated from University of Otago in 1997 and after Christchurch started work at Wanaka Medical in 2016.

Anna has a special interest in paediatrics, general medicine and urgent care.

She and her family enjoy mountain biking, snow sports, walking and all the area has to offer.


Dr Jenny Maybin (MRCGP, RCNZRHM, MBChB, RCNZGP)

WMC_Jenny_M_524Jenny qualified from Aberdeen University in 2003 and moved to Wanaka in 2010.  Jenny works most of the year in Dunstan Hospital and also works at Wanaka Medical to maintain her General Practice skills and her RCNZ General Practice Fellowship.

Maureen McNeill: (RGON, PGCert Health Science, PGCert Travel Medicine, Certificate of Proficiency Gynaecology)

WMC_Maureen_M_080Maureen is the Nurse Manager .

Maureen joined Wanaka Medical in 2006 and leads the experienced and professional team of nurses. She is PRIME and TNCC trained. She is an authorised vaccinator and an accredited smear taker. She is also NZQA qualified in drug and alcohol testing.

She has a special interest in Travel Medicine and Women’s Health.


Stephanie Still:  (RGON)

WMC_Steph_S_319Stephanie has vast experience in emergency and acute medicine. She is our nurse educator and nursing preceptor.

She started with Wanaka Medical in 2000. Stephanie is PRIME trained, an authorised vaccinator and an accredited smear taker. She is also NZQA qualified in drug and alcohol testing.

Stephanie has a special interest in Emergency medicine, Nurse education and Travel medicine.

Bridget Adams:   (RGON)

WMC_Bridget_A_461Bridget is the Infection and Quality Nurse. She is supports student nurses.

Bridget joined Wanaka Medical in 2003. Bridget is PRIME & TNCC trained. She is an authorised vaccinator and an accredited smear taker. She is also NZQA qualified in drug and alcohol testing.

She has a special interest in Long Term Condition Management and runs Cardiovascular Risk clinics which offer lifestyle advice. Bridget is also interested in women’s’ health and is an Occupational Health Nurse


Chris Colbourne:  (BN, BHSc (Paramedic), PG Cert Occ Med)

WMC_Chrissy_C_054Chris is interested in all aspects of practice nursing. She has experience in emergency care (she is a trained paramedic) and is also qualified in Occupational Health.

Chris started working at Wanaka Medical in 2009. She is PRIME and TNCC trained. She is an authorised vaccinator and an accredited smear taker. She is also NZQA qualified in drug and alcohol testing.

She has a special interest in Emergency Medicine, Respiratory Medicine, Occupational Health and Work Place Monitoring.


Carol Hannon:   (Dip N),

WMC_Carol_H_166Carol trained in Edinburgh, Scotland and has a wide range of nursing experience.

She started work with Wanaka Medical in 2005. Carol is PRIME trained. She is an authorised vaccinator and an accredited smear taker. She a special interest also in minor surgery.

She has a passion for healthy lifestyles and runs Cardiovascular Risk clinics and Smoking Cessation sessions.


Ceri Orbell:        (RGON)

ceriTrained in Aberdeen and graduated as a registered general nurse in 1992. Ceri enjoys working with a great team and the busy, varied work at the Wanaka Medical.

Ceri started with Wanaka Medical in 2015. She is PRIME trained and is an authorised vaccinator.

She has a special interest in long term conditions and wound care.


Leigh Cashen:   (Dip N, PG Cert Primary Health Care)

WMC_LeighZ_C_509Leigh has a special interest in Diabetes and other chronic disease. She has completed post graduate papers in advanced diabetes nursing and Long term conditions management and coordinates the Long Term Condition team.

Leigh joined Wanaka Medical in 2008.She is an authorised vaccinator and an accredited smear taker.

She has a special interest in Long term conditions and diabetes.


Rosalind Nelson: (Dip N)

WMC_Ros_N_093Ros graduated from Auckland Institute of Technology in 1991.

Ros started at Wanaka Medical in 2011.She is PRIME trained and is an authorised vaccinator and an accredited smear taker.

She has a special interest in emergency care, skin treatment (liquid nitrogen treatment), skin cancer and minor surgery.


Lizzie Burdon:    (RGON)

WMC_Lizze_B_042Lizzie trained at the Christchurch School of Nursing, qualifying in 1985.

She started work at Wanaka Medical in 2013. Lizzie is PRIME trained and an authorised vaccinator.

Lizzie has a special interest in long term conditions.


Kerri Evans: Nurse Assistant

WMC_Kerri_E_119She is responsible for stocking, ordering, sterilizing, setting up for procedures and mostly keeping the nurses in order!

Kerri has been with Wanaka Medical since 2009

Kerri is also the admin assistant.


Holly Davies: Phlebotomist and Relief Nurse Assistant (NZIMLS)

hollyHolly works as a phlebotomist and is a qualified to do  Workplace Drug testing.

She also supports Kerri as the nurse assistant.

Holly started at Wanaka Medical in 2015
