Dr Andrew McLeod (MB ChB, Dip Obs, FRNZCGP)

WMC_Andrew_M_030Andrew has worked at the Wanaka Medical Centre since 1985.  Andrew has an interest in sports medicine and competes himself in triathlons and multi sports events.

Dr Julian Pettit (MB ChB, DCH, FRNZCGP)

WMC_Julian_P_011Julian qualified from the University of Otago in 1996.  He has a special interest in medical education and is the local coordinator for the Rural Immersion Medical Programme.  A love of the outdoors brought him to Wanaka 2003 where he continues to enjoy the lifestyle with his wife and two daughters. He is now a director of the Wanaka Medical Centre and enjoys the work environment because of its enthusiastic people, both staff and patients alike.  He is also a member of LandSAR Wanaka.


WMC_Jo_M_377Jo studied medicine at King’s College in London and has post graduate diplomas in Child Health and Obstetrics & Gynaecology. She is a fellow of the NZ College of GPs. Jo lives with her husband Paul and three children and spends most of her free time involved with their activities but also enjoys skiing, swimming and the Paradiso.

Dr Linda Garrett (MB ChB, FRNZCGP)

WMC_Linda_G_493Linda graduated from Otago University in 1985 and has special interests in women’s health, adolescent and child health. Linda has lived in the area for 27 years, initially in Tarras, moving to Wanaka in 2001 with her husband and four children. Linda enjoys being part of a well organised and committed team as well as developing long standing relationships with her patients and their families. Family and friends take up her spare time as well as walking, snow/water skiing, gardening and reading.

Dr Mark Feeney (MB ChB, BSc (Hons), MRCGP, FRNZCGP)

WMC_Mark_F_498Mark qualified in the UK in 1995 and has a special interest in general medicine and skin cancer. He came to Wanaka in 2010, lured by the outdoors. The enjoys the varied practice population and team approach at the medical centre.  Mark works most of the year here as a GP but spends some time in Dunstan Hospital in order to maintain both rural hospital and GP skills.

Charlotte Kevern (MB ChB, MRNZCGP, BSc, DCH, PGCertHlth)

charlotteCharlotte graduated from the University of Otago in 2011 and worked in Invercargill in both hospital and general practice settings before being lured to Wanaka by the skiing, hiking and mountain biking. Charlotte has a special interest in both obstetrics and gynaecology and paediatric medicine and has completed postgraduate training in both of these areas.  Charlotte is currently studying towards a Certificate in Aviation  Medicine and as well as a Diploma in Travel Medicine.  Charlotte appreciates the team atmosphere of both the Wanaka Medical Centre and the local health professionals, and has enjoyed getting to know the patients since her arrival in 2015.

Dr Michele Wills (MBChB, Dip Dermoscopy (SCCS) Distinction)

michelleMichele grew up in Invercargill,  graduated from the University of Otago in 2007 and has a special interest in skin.  She has always loved Wanaka, spending many holidays here as a child.  Michele and her husband, Jonathon moved to Wanaka in 2014 and have since had a daughter.

Dr Jonathon Wills (MbChb, FDRHM)

jonoJonathon grew up in Mt Maunganui before moving south to study at Otago University.  He graduated in 2007 and has worked in both rural hospitals and general practice.  He and his wife Michele, moved to Wanaka in 2014.

Dr Erika Hollows (MBChB, FRNZCGP)

erikaErika graduated from Otago Medical School in 1994.  She worked as a medical registrar and in the emergency department prior to entering general practice.  Her areas of interest include youth health, women’s health and cardiovascular health. When not at work Erika enjoys spending time with her family, art, music and yoga.

WMC_Jenny_M_524Jenny qualified from Aberdeen University in 2003 and moved to Wanaka in 2010.  Jenny works most of the year in Dunstan Hospital and swaps with Mark for a number of months each year. This enables them both to maintain their rural hospital and general practice skills.

WMC_Maureen_M_080Maureen’s week is split between practice nursing and administration. She is a smear taker, vaccinator, drug tester, Travel nurse and is PRIME and TNCC trained.

Stepahnie Still: Practice Nurse, Nurse Educator (RGON)

WMC_Steph_S_319Stephanie has vast experience in emergency and acute medicine. She is our nurse educator and nursing preceptor. She is a smear taker, vaccinator, drug tester, travel nurse and is PRIME trained.

Bridget Adams: Practice Nurse, Infection Control/Quality Nurse, Occupational Health Nurse (RGON)

WMC_Bridget_A_461Bid has a wide range of nursing experience and post graduate work behind her. Bridget is a smear taker, vaccinator and is PRIME and TNCC trained. She has a special interest in lifestyle advice and chronic disease and runs Cardiovascular Risk clinics. She is also on of our nurse preceptors.

Chris Colbourne: Practice Nurse, Respiratory Nurse, Occupational Health Nurse, Paramedic (BN, BHSc (Paramedic))

WMC_Chrissy_C_054Chris is interested in all aspects of practice nursing. She is a vaccinator, smear taker and is PRIME and TNCC trained as well as being a trained paramedic.

Carol Hannon: Practice Nurse, Cardiovascular Nurse (DipN)

WMC_Carol_H_166Carol trained in Edinburgh, Scotland and has a wide range of nursing experience. She began here in 2009 and is a smear taker, vaccinator and is PRIME trained. She has a passion for healthy lifestyle and runs Cardiovascular Risk clinics and Smoking Cessation sessions.

Ceri Orbell: Practice Nurse, Long Term Condition Nurse (RGON)

ceriTrained in Aberdeen and graduated as a registered general nurse in 1992. Ceri enjoys working with a great team and the busy, varied work at the Wanaka Medical Centre.  She is a vaccinator, smear taker and PRIME trained.

Leigh Cashen: Practice Nurse, Diabetic Specialist Nurse, Long Term Conditions Coordinator (DipN, PG Cert Primary Health Care)

WMC_LeighZ_C_509Leigh has a special interest in Diabetes and other chronic disease. She has completed post graduate papers in advanced diabetes nursing and Long term conditions management and coordinates the Long Term Condition team. She is a smear taker, vaccinator and is PRIME trained.

Ros Nelson: Practice Nurse, Skin Treatment Nurse (DipN)

Lizzie Burdon: Practice Nurse, Long Term Condition Nurse (RGON)

Kerri Evans: Nurse Assistant

Holly Davies: Phlebotomist and Relief Nurse Assistant (NZIMLS)

hollyHolly works as a phlebotomist in the mornings. She supports Kerry as the nurse assistant and also does Workplace Drug Testing.
